Blue Medicine Painted Pony Figurine
Mary Iron Eyes gifts us with a profoundly spiritual expression of healing in Blue Medicine. A gifted writer and painter, this Cherokee artist wanted her Pony to stand not only as a work of art, but an expression of healing and support for those in need in our community. This pony is adorned with a leather-look tribal sash and is decorated with the individual prints of families and children. Mary worked overtime to complete this vision and personal prayer before passing to the other side in the summer of 2003.

| The trail of Painted Ponies began in 2000 as a Statewide art project in New Mexico, USA. Lifesize resin horses were transformed by local artists using a wide variety of inspirations and became a new art form, combining folk art and fine art to deliver spectacular results that were displayed in a number of locations, before being auctioned off for a variety of different charities. These sculptures have now been transformed into a collectable set of figurines known as the Trail of Painted Ponies. |
