Sounds of Thunder Painted Pony Figurine From the Trail of Painted Ponies Collection: "Sounds of Thunder" represents both the male and female lifestyle of the Plains Indian People, as rendered by the acclaimed Cherokee father and daughter artists, Bill and Traci Rabbit. On Side 1 Bill depicts the ultimate warrior – his profile accompanied by symbols that tell the dramatic story of his many victories. On Side 2 Traci depicts the grace, strength and determination of women in Native society – a sun radiating healing beams, her dress signifying her skill at beading and design, a buffalo hunt in the background relating the importance of both the buffalo and the horse to Native Americans. This beautiful pony figurine from the Winter 2006-2007 Trail of Painted Ponies 9th release is made of ceramic and measures 6" tall. Artists: Bill & Traci Rabbit

| The trail of Painted Ponies began in 2000 as a Statewide art project in New Mexico, USA. Lifesize resin horses were transformed by local artists using a wide variety of inspirations and became a new art form, combining folk art and fine art to deliver spectacular results that were displayed in a number of locations, before being auctioned off for a variety of different charities. These sculptures have now been transformed into a collectable set of figurines known as the Trail of Painted Ponies. | |
